Maggie
Maggie is an Occupational Therapist of 20 years, with clinical and leadership experience in adult mental health across rehabilitation, NDIS, not-for-profit and community settings. She has a passion for equitable access to healthcare which led her to pursue a Master of Public Health, which she completed in 2018. In her mental health practice, she has supported people experiencing severe and enduring mental illness including Schizophrenia and Mood Disorders, and also has experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She brings to her work lived experience of the impact that mental illness can have on carers and family members.
Maggie is both caring and pragmatic, striving always to gain an understanding of who people are as individuals, and how best to work with them so they can engage in the occupations they find meaningful. In her practice she draws on Occupational Therapy specific theory including the Vona Du Toit Model of Creative Ability, Sensory Modulation and Cognitive Disabilities Models.
When she's not working as an OT she enjoys exploring the hikes of Victoria, and tending her native garden.
